Bulkington - St James
St James's church in Bulkington, an imposing edifice dating mainly from the
fourteenth century. It's tower is particularly impressive, and distinguished on
it's south face by a series of tiny canopied windows that light the spiral
staircase to the belfry (this seems to be a north Warwickshire peculiarity,
found also at Middleton, Curdworth and Yardley).
Happily this church was open today (normally only open saturday mornings) and
manned by some particularly hospitable parishoners.
