Berkswell - St John the Baptist
St John the Baptist's in Berkswell is one of the most outstanding historic
churches of the old county of Warwickshire, with some outstanding Norman work
surviving in the chancel and crypt.
Other unusual features include the surviving gallery in the south aisle
(effectively creating two entirely seperate chapels) and a pictuesque
timber-framed south porch.
This was my third visit to this church, my first being a proffessional one as
part of the team that restored much of the glazing in 1997, and the second
attending the wedding of some friends here, several months earlier in April
2008.
