Little Packington - St Bartholomew
A small two-cell building that was made redundant long ago and has since been converted to residential use, and sadly being a long way down a rather private looking lane I couldn't get too close, and just had to gaze at the distant pretty Victorian timber-framed steeple.
I've no idea what became of the fragments of medieval glass mentioned in Pevsner, presumably they are still in situ; a pity they can't be seen but it does seem right they should remain in situ in the context they were created for (and a situation little different from those still working churches that are difficult of access).
A Flickr search has since revealed a sign (that I didn't see) requesting that anyone hoping to visit the graveyard must first apply for written permission for access, so I'm glad I didn't go wandering further down that lane! The residents privacy should of course be respected, so I would urge any potential visitor to resist the temptation to wander up for a closer look.
